The Association Awareness being the major key to break the silence surrounding Alzheimer, ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION LEBANON was created as a non-profit organization with the mission of improving the quality of life for people with dementia and their caretakers and with the primary objective of raising public awareness throughout Lebanon and the Middle East hoping to eliminate the fear caused by Alzheimer’s Mental disorder, to spread in-depth knowledge of the disease and to decrease the burden of care on families and encourage partnerships between professionals.
Raising community awareness and stimulating involvement can be a tricky journey in repressive societies like ours, thus creating an Alzheimer’s association seemed a solution, an efficient way to achieve help for the largest possible number of people.
ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION LEBANON aims at becoming the pioneer in the Arab world to disseminate information, reduce stigmatization and unveil the darkness about Alzheimer’s disease

Objectives

Organize monthly public meetings to support caregivers, family members and members through counseling and lectures. Establish contacts between families, caregivers, professional workers and people with dementia. Distribute manuals, brochures, help sheets and other written material; both in English and Arabic.
Provide information and disseminate it throughout Lebanon and the Arab World. Raise public awareness through the mass media. (Television, radio, newspapers, conferences).
Raise awareness about Alzheimer’s-related issues before the public, the government and with health long-term providers to attain growth in state support services.
Lay the foundations for the creation of the first Alzheimer’s specialized Nursing Home for Lebanon and the Middle East
